Intro to GUANGXI UNIVERSITY
Founded in 1928, Guangxi University (GXU) is located in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi, which is known as the "Green City of China". It is the only national "211 Project" university in Guangxi, as well as being a "double first-class" construction university, and the co-construction university of the Ministry of Education and People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
GXU covers an area of more than 21,400 mu (approximately 14,266,666 square meters), with a total building area of more than 2 million square meters. GXU boasts 25 schools, 24,017 full-time undergraduates, 16,751 full-time postgraduates, 2,785 part-time postgraduates, 1,271 international students and students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and 10,967 students in various types of adult education. There are 3,321 faculty members, among whom 585 with senior professional and technical positions, 948 with associate senior professional and technical positions, two full-time academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 65 candidates for national major talent projects, and 23 recipients of special allowances from the State Council.
GXU offers a full range of disciplines, including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, administration, arts and the like. It has 38 first-level disciplines and 67 undergraduate programs in 2024, of which 15 adopt enrollment methods according to 7 major categories. Up till now, GXU has one "World-class" construction discipline, two "Co-construction first-class discipline groups”, two national key disciplines, one national key (cultivation) disciplines, 12 Guangxi first-class disciplines, 46 national first-class undergraduate specialities. 9 disciplines including engineering, material science, agronomy, plant and zoology, chemistry, environmental science or ecology, biology and biochemistry, computer Science, and earth sciences are ranked in the top 1% of the global ESI. Moreover, there are 19 first-level discipline PhD programs, one professional PhD program, 38 first-level discipline master programs, 25 professional master programs and 14 postdoctoral research stations in GXU.

Language of Teaching
Courses for students obtaining Chinese Government Scholarship are generally taught in Chinese. All the Chinese-taught programs require at least HSK 4 certificate.
For now only some of the doctoral and master programs can be taught in English, especially science and engineering. Applicants shall confirm with us if the programs can be taught in English. Applicants for programs taught in English language shall at least have scored 6.0 in IELTS or 80 in TOEFL before the application.
Deadline for Application
Applicants have to submit application documents online to the email lxs@gxu.edu.cn before 15 February, 2025. Applicants do not need to send hard copies to the university by post.
Format of the e-mail title should be "CSC + country name + applicant's full name"
Application should be submitted by the requirements above, otherwise would be rejected immediately.
Qualifications of Applicants
1. Applicants should be in good health and non-Chinese citizen with a 10-year experience of living, studying or working in the domiciliary country.
2. Applicants should respect and observe the laws and regulations in China.
3. Education background and age limit:
- Applicants for master studies shall have bachelor’s degree and should be under the age of 35.
- Applicants for Doctorate studies shall have master’s degree and should be under the age of 40.
4. Basic requirements for language proficiency
- Applicants for postgraduates programs (master and doctorate) taught in Chinese language should at least have past the HSK4 test before the application.
- Applicants for programs taught in English language (some doctoral programs) shall at least have scored 6.0 in IELTS or 80 in TOEFL before the application.

HOW TO APPLY?
Applicants do not need to send the hardcopies to us, however, they should guarantee the authenticity of the materials and be faithful during the application. Any behaviour of cheating or faking will lead to the rejection and termination of the scholarship.

1. Applicants should sign up in the website of Chinese Government Scholarship and apply online first. (linkage: www.csc.edu.cn/laihua). Applicants are strongly recommended to read through the instructions on the website before making application.
2. Sign up, log in with your user’s name and password and fill in the application information.
3. Fill in the correct Agency Number of Guangxi University: 10593
4. Fill in the application form truly, correctly, and completely. Application will be denied upon any unture information found.
5. send us the digital docuemts by email to lxs@gxu.edu.cn before February 15, 2025. Format of the mail title should be "CSC Scholarship+country name+applicant's full name"

Approval and Notification
1. Guangxi University will review all the application materials and is authorized to make neccessary adjustments on the applied majors and duration of study. The qualified applications will be forwarded to China Scholarship Council (CSC) who makes the final decision. The application will be regarded as invalid and will not be processed if the applicants are not qualified or the application materials are unture, incomplete, or against the recruitment regulations.
2. Scholarship applicants accepted by Guangxi University will be officially awarded the Chinese Government Scholarship with endorsement from CSC and submitted to Ministry of Education of China( MOEC) for the record.
4. Students are not allowed to change their majors, or the duration of study specified in the Admission Notice after registration.
5. The result of application will be announced around late July. Applicants will be informed by our emails. The awardees of scholarship will be given Admission Notice and visa application form (JW 201 form). Therefore, please make sure to provide the correct postal and contact information.
